Osteonecrosis of the femoral head

Hip arthroscopy has primarily a diagnostic value in cases of osteonecrosis of the femoral head, offering direct observation of the articular surface and classification based on the degree of chondral lesions. Furthermore, the arthroscopist can remove any free loose bodies, thus helping to relieve the symptoms.
