Iliopsoas tendonitis

The symptoms of the iliopsoas are relatively a common finding among athletes, especially those involved with football. The most common disease is the iliopsoas tendonitis. The iliopsoas tendon, before its attachment to the lesser trochanter, is surrounded by a mantle of soft tissue, which may cause pressure symptoms in cases of inflammation.

During the arthroscopic treatment, through the peripheral compartment of the hip joint, the decompression of the tendon is intented, by detaching the soft tissue mantle around it. Rarely, a tenotomy is performed, which is the complete intersection of the tendon.
