Ligamentum teres

The usefulness and function of ligamentous teres to the hip joint is a controversial topic. However, its damage is a common finding in hip arthroscopy, which is often accompanied by other intra-articular lesions.

Anecdotal observations also suggest the existence of pathology of the ligamentum teres in cases with more severe joint pathology. Hip arthroscopy except diagnosing the ligamentum teres lesion, which may comprise a partial or complete rupture, can also contribute to the repair of the lesion with shrinkage with flexible arthroscopic diathermy.
