Organised by the Orthopaedic Clinic of Arta Hospital, the Laboratory of Anatomy-Histology-Embryology of the University of Ioannina and the Hellenic Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Sports Injuries «Georgios Noulis», the 1st Epirus Knee Course, from 4 to 6 December 2025, takes place in Ioannina and in Metsovo. This is a new, innovative three-day course that gives full coverage – in theory and in practice – to current approaches and techniques in meniscal pathology.
At the meeting, Greek and international speakers will present topics covering the whole of meniscal pathology. Through hands-on practice on cadaveric specimens, under the guidance of experienced instructors, participants will train in recognising the normal physiology and the pathology of the meniscus, in the basic suture techniques, and in more specialised methods of treatment.
Alexandros Tzaveas takes part in the scientific programme of the course as Head of Practical Training at the Laboratory of Anatomy-Histology-Embryology of the University of Ioannina, and as Chair of the session entitled «Introduction to the anatomy – physiology and imaging of the menisci», which will be held at the «DIASELO» Conference Centre in Metsovo. As part of the course he will also present a talk entitled «Clinical examination of the patient with meniscal pathology» on Friday 05 December 2025, 09.48 – 10.00 a.m.
