The 7th Balkan Congress of Arthroscopy and Sports Injuries, with international participation, is being held from 29 September to 1 October 2016, at the Porto Palace hotel in Thessaloniki. The congress is organised by the Balkan Society of Arthroscopy and Sports Injuries in collaboration with the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society.
The Balkan Society of Arthroscopy and Sports Injuries was founded in Sofia in 2014 and was built on the idea of scientific collaboration between doctors from the wider Balkan region whose principal field is arthroscopic surgery and sports injuries. The aim of the congress is continuing medical education and information on sports medicine topics, and the exchange of views and experience among distinguished surgeons who are specialists in their field.
Alexandros Tzaveas is taking an active part in the congress as a member of the organising committee, and will also give two lectures in the round table on hip arthroscopy, entitled: “Advances in Hip Arthroscopy: tips and tricks to make the procedure easier” and “Femoroacetabular impingement and labral tear: the two most common indications for hip arthroscopy”. The first talk will present the techniques together with all the secrets and «tricks» that help the orthopaedic surgeon to carry out hip arthroscopic surgery more easily and more safely. The second talk will present the clinical and imaging features, as well as the arthroscopic treatment, of the two most common pathological conditions found at hip arthroscopy, femoroacetabular impingement and a tear of the labrum of the acetabulum.
The talks will take place on Thursday, 29 September 2016 at 18.45, at the Porto Palace hotel in Thessaloniki.
