Talk by Alexandros Tzaveas on: "Clinical examination and investigation of the hip: things we do not examine and conditions that go undiagnosed"

As part of the 2015-2016 programme of educational activities of the 1st Orthopaedic Clinic of the 424 General Military Hospital, Alexandros Tzaveas will give a talk on the clinical examination and investigation of the hip.
The talk will cover current methods of clinical examination of the hip, as well as recent developments in imaging of the joint.
Pathological conditions of the hip joint and of the structures surrounding it are in many cases a puzzle for the orthopaedic surgeon. In particular, in cases involving sports injuries and symptoms in young patients, diagnosis can be difficult and depends chiefly on a careful clinical examination together with correct use of imaging methods.
In many cases, the established techniques of clinical examination and investigation do not bring out the clinical signs, and it is necessary to use special clinical tests or particular investigative methods.
The lecture will last 30 minutes and will take place in the patients' day room of the Orthopaedic Clinic, on Friday 11 March 2016 at 8.00 in the morning.
