Alexandros Tzaveas will give a lecture entitled “Femoroacetabular impingement syndrome” at the 12th Congress of the Hellenic Sports Medicine Association, which will be held at the Porto Palace hotel in Thessaloniki from 16 to 18 March 2018. The talk will be given at a round table on overuse syndromes of the lower limbs in athletes.
The Congress of the Hellenic Sports Medicine Association is the culmination of the Association's scientific activities and has been held for the past 27 years. It is attended by scientists and professionals working in sports medicine. It is a highly interesting scientific event, since topics of interest relating to medicine in sport are studied and discussed, whether at recreational or at professional level. Moreover, sports injuries are a considerable challenge for health professionals, both in their prevention and in their treatment. In addition, the great importance of exercise in everyday life and its beneficial effects call for better knowledge and management of the related issues by health professionals, by coaches and by athletes themselves.
Alexandros Tzaveas is taking an active part with a talk on overuse syndromes of the lower limbs, speaking about femoroacetabular impingement syndrome, which is a fairly common condition in sporting activities that involve a large range of hip movement, impact loading and, very often, contact sports.
The talk will be given on Saturday 17 March, in the Crystal room of the Porto Palace hotel, at 8 o'clock in the evening.
