As part of the collaboration between the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society and the Turkish Arthroscopy Society, the 3rd Orthopaedic Clinic of the Interbalkan Medical Centre of Thessaloniki hosted two Turkish Fellows (doctors on a training fellowship), within an international exchange and further-training programme in Orthopaedic Surgery.
During their stay they observed a hip arthroscopy for synovial osteochondromatosis, performed by Alexandros Tzaveas, with emphasis on the modern principles of minimally invasive surgery and of hip preservation surgery.
Educational activities of this kind make a substantial contribution to the exchange of knowledge and clinical experience, to the advancement of arthroscopic surgery and to the improvement of techniques for treating conditions of the hip, through continuous international collaboration.
